Who are the 1500 AI respondents?
All 1,500 AI
panelists are representations of actual human beings and are based on a representative, demographically-weighted, sample
of the entire U.S. population across all 50 states. Therefore, each AI panelist corresponds to an actual human survey
respondent, constructed from their stated demographics and their reported feelings and opinions on a wide range
of social issues. Each is also trained to mirror the personality and opinions of the underlying
human respondent — and now, these AI panelists are ready to take surveys again and again. For
example, among the 1,500 panelists, there is a 33 year old Black woman with some college
education, living in Pennsylvania who's never been married. She is a Protestant and votes Democrat.
Another is a white, non-binary 24 year old with a 2-year degree, living in North Carolina. They say
they are politically moderate and do not belong to any religion. Another is a 35 year old white Jewish
man with some college education, living in New Jersey who is unemployed and had to borrow money to pay
his bills. He leans Republican. Yet another is a married, 74 year old white woman with some college
education, living in Virginia working full-time. She considers herself a third generation immigrant and
didn't vote in in the 2016 presidential election. So with the above examples——a 33 year old Black woman with some college education,
living in Pennsylvania who's never been married, is a Protestant and votes Democrat; a white, non-binary
24 year old with a 2-year degree, living in North Carolina who says they are politically moderate and does
not belong to any religion; a 35 year old white Jewish man with some college education, living in New Jersey
who is unemployed and leans Republican. A married, 74 year old white woman with some college education,
living in Virginia working full-time who's a third generation immigrant and who didn't vote in in the 2016
presidential election——these are just a sample of the 1500 real humans upon which we built our AI synthetic
respondents from. The original ANES survey this AI panel is based on was conducted using non-probability
sampling. This method produces a sample that looks similar to a probability sample on the matched characteristics
but may still differ in unknown ways on unmatched characteristics. Besides basic demographics, we also include
each person's reported feelings and opinions from the ANES survey on a wide range of social issues such as politics, job security, the health of
the economy, immigration, abortion, crime, the wars overseas, public education, social activism, feminism, Jan 6th
and other prevalent issues being talked about in America today. American National Election Studies. 2024. ANES 2024
Pilot Study. March 19, 2024. www.electionstudies.org. With each AI panelist synthetic respondent trained to assume the
personality and opinions of a corresponding actual, human respondent, Xpolls has created a way to mirror the sentiments of human
respondents as AI copies of those respondents who can be used to take surveys over and over again.
